FOTONA 4D LASER TREATMENT
PROVEN IMPROVED SKIN QUALITY!
New studies bring scientific evidence to the patented, minimally invasive FOTONA treatment method “4D”. We took a closer look at one of them:
Dr. Natalia Shanina examines the possibility of correcting histological signs of skin aging using the FOTONA patented, minimally invasive 4D laser technology. Two 4D laser treatments were carried out on 80 patients (71 women, 9 men) aged 32-66 years (average age 48, 9 years) at an interval of 4 weeks. Follow-up appointments were made one and two months after the start of therapy. No additional therapies were used.
In addition to a clinical examination (IAACFS) and precise photo documentation, the following methods were also evaluated:
- Aramao SG Software SkinXPRO (for determining moisture content, surface topography, pore size and skin pigmentation)
- High-frequency ultrasound GE Voluson (8-10 mm depth) histology (e.g. measurement of the different skin layers)
- Histochemical: van Gieson method (density of collagen fibers in the tissue)
- Immunohistochemical: Evaluation of the cell marker CD34, (total collagen)
The significant change in wrinkle depth, pigment balance and skin quality could not only be demonstrated using photo documentation, but also objectively. The IAACFS (Index of Age Changes in the Facial Skin) score changed from 27 to 12 – physiological factors such as skin moisture, relief and pore size showed demonstrably measurable improvements.
The tissue quality in the high-frequency ultrasound images shows a positive change in terms of quality and thickness of the skin as does the histology – with a higher number and activity of fibroblasts, stronger connective tissue, sprouting of new vessels and significantly more collagen fibers.
The clinical effectiveness of this combined laser therapy consisting of minimally invasive Er:Yag and Nd:Yag in the 4D therapy protocol from FOTONA was thus proven.
